From SOFTICE
As discussed on the Linux system administration wiki page, this lab series is at an intermediate level; it is meant to follow up on an User-side introduction to Linux series of labs and preceed an advanced Linux system administration labs series.
Consequently, the main objective of this lab series is to guide students through aqcuiring the skills, knowledge and methods of a system administrator in charge of a networked workstation.
Each lab below is meant to be done in a 3 hours weekly session (1 credit lab course). The wiki pages below will provide you with further information about the pedagogical objectives of these labs, their formatting, how to set up an environment for them and point you toward general Linux sysadmin references;
- Instructions on Setting up the ELSA labs
- Notes on the Pedagogy used in ELSA labs
- References for Linux System Administration
- Typographic Conventions for Linux System Administration Labs
Please note that while we have been focussing on the Debian flavor of Linux any contribution to adapt this material to other distro (Fedora c5, CentOS, anyone?) will be warmly welcomed.
