It took some time but I think I found a link that tells me how to properly install VMware Tools for Linux. I found the link here: http://pubs.vmware.com/server1/vm/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=vm&file=tools_server.4.12.html the next thing I have do is get the program to work.
